The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been rumored to feature a whopping 6.3" display, which can only mean that Samsung's flagship device, the Galaxy S3, is starting to look pretty tiny by comparison. Perhaps Samsung is looking to bridge that gap in 2013 and according to Digitimes, they are reporting that Samsung, Sony, LG, Huawei and ZTE are set to follow in HTC and Sharp's footsteps by releasing 5" devices with Full HD 1080p displays in the first half of 2013. Samsung and LG are expected to build their own displays, while Sony is said to be sourcing theirs from JDI, a company in which Sony has a stake in.

It's the SPCA Auckland (located in New Zealand) coming up with an innovative way of proving that it's possible to teach a rescue animal new tricks. Monty, Porter and Ginny are all dogs rescued by the SPCA Auckland, and each was taught the ability to drive a Mini Countryman around a track. After being strapped into the driver's seat, the dogs are able to use their paws to start the car, steer it and work the gas and brake, which have been modified similar to a car setup for a special-needs driver.

Mercedes-Benz recalling 5,800 vehicles over potential fires

It turns out Ford isn't the only automaker worried about car fire recalls these days. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration today issuing a recall for potential fires on various 2011 and 2012 model year Mercedes-Benz vehicles, occurring from a fault with a fuel filter flange. The problem stems from an issue in the molding process that can allow the flange to crack, leak gasoline and possibly cause a fire.
