NPD released some new numbers for all of us to mull over today. And did you think the result would be any different from the dozens of reports from other research firms. They report that Android captured 52% of the US smartphone market share in Q2 2011, with Apple getting just 29%. RIM fell to 11% while Windows Phone 7, Windows Mobile and webOS accounted for less than 5% each (and with HP dumping that last one, it won't be long before it's not even mentioned in these quarterly reports.
NPD also took this opportunity to point out that Motorola's been declining year on year.
