Apple says new iPad demand is ‘off the charts' as pre-orders sell out

Apple confirmed this past weekend that pre-order inventory of its new iPad tablet has been depleted. ”Customer response to the new iPad has been off the charts and the quantity available for pre-order has been purchased,” a company spokesperson told USA Today in a statement. “Customers can continue to order online and receive an estimated delivery date.” While pre-order inventory has been sold out, Apple is expected to have additional supply available for customers who choose to line up at Apple Store locations and other launch partner stores. Apple unveiled its new iPad during a press conference last week.
