Cincinnati Bell To Release Huawei Ascend X Android Smartphone

Cincinnati Bell is ready to release the Huawei Ascend X Android-powered smartphone. The phone features a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 4.1-inch touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, a 2GB of internal storage, a 512MB of RAM, a microSD slot (up to 32GB), Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and a 1400mAh battery. The Huawei Ascend X also supports HSPA+, which allows a theoretical download throughput of 14.4 Mbps, and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA. Cincinnati Bell sells the Huawei Ascend X for $99.99 with a new two-year service agreement.

The Pantech Crossover is now available at AT&T. The handset features a 3.1-inch display, a 600MHz processor, a 3-megapixel camera, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and the Google Android 2.2 OS. The Crossover also has a textured back and rubberized corners to give users a better grip on the device. The AT&T Pantech Crossover will be released on June 5th, 2011 for $69.99 with a 2-year contract. Each purchase comes equipped with a free 2GB microSD card.

The HTC Merge, this CDMA version of the Desire Z, is now finally available on US Cellular. Today's release was expected, even if we first thought the device would launch about a month ago. Again as expected, the price is $149.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate. That price is what you have to pay for the phone if you opt to sign a new two-year contract of course, and you'll also have to get a data plan. The HTC Merge is US Cellular's first Android-powered ‘Global Ready' phone.

New hacking group prepares to destroy Sony

It's only been a few weeks since Sony's hacked PlayStation Network was first restored and now another hacking group is threatening to take down the company's assets yet again. It's believed that the hacking group known as LulzSec that took down PBS' website over the weekend and hacked Sony BMG Japan one week ago is making plans for a new cyber-attack.
