Atlus customarily includes soundtrack discs with the first printing of its games, in a program it calls “Atlus Spoils.” But for The King of Fighters XIII, Atlus has gone beyond its normal initiative, bundling a four-disc soundtrack with pre-orders from Amazon and GameStop. The four-disc soundtrack contains a collection of music from throughout the whole King of Fighters series.

Nokia X7 with Symbian Anna now available at Rogers

Last month we told you that Rogers was getting ready to add the Nokia X7 to its smartphone lineup. All we had back then was a “this summer” rumored release time frame, and no pricing info whatsoever. In the meantime, though, Rogers has started selling the Nokia X7. In fact it's now available to order from the carrier. Rogers asks $29.99 for an X7 with a new three-year contract, $79.99 with a two-year agreement, and $149.99 with a one-year commitment.

Spotify gets served patent infringement lawsuit by PacketVideo

When Spotify was first announced it made waves as many had claimed it would give iTunes a run for their money, and when Spotify announced that they were coming to the US that caused and even bigger stir with many users eager to try out the new music service. As it turns out less than a month into their US launch, Spotify has been slapped with a patent infringement lawsuit by PacketVideo. With so many patents available out there it's really hard to be original these days or put out a product without accidentally stepping on someone else's toes.

BBC releases ‘global' iPlayer app for European iPads, €7 per month

The wonders of iPlayer on the iPad are no longer Brits-only. As of today, iPad users in 11 other countries across Europe can subscribe to the service for €7 per month or €50 per year. That equates to $10 — just about living up to BBC's promised maximum price. The subscription grants access to a wealth of TV classics, like Fawlty Towers and Only Fools & Horses, as well as unwitting comedies like EastEnders. Of course, the highly acclaim Top Gear is also available, for those who like cars and middle-aged men in pointy shoes with lame jokes.

Deja Vu intelligent bag

Deja Vu intelligent bag

The words Deja Vu is of French origin, where it means 'already seen' – well, MIT students Heidi Chen and Nicole Tariverdian decided to settle for Deja Vu as the moniker for their new intelligent bag. Why so, you ask. Surely there is a method and reason behind this move. Well, 'already seen' has been applied to the situation where the Deja Vu bag supposedly offers peace of mind to folks who have poor memory, and tend to leave their keys as well as other important items somewhere, someplace.

Apart from watching your favorite sitcom on the TV back home, what else do you do with the idiot box. OK, so I might get some flak from this as TVs these days are deemed to be ‘smart', so it could be insulting to some for me to call it the idiot box. You know what they say, a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet, but I digress. Watching movies is one thing, but if you want to get more interactive with your TV, how about playing video games on it.

McIntosh Mantle Clock is a frivolous yet expensive purchase

You know, money makes people do weird things – especially when you have far too much money to spend in this lifetime as well as the next. Well, if you happen to be in possession of plenty of cold, hard cash in your bank account, then you might want to consider bringing home the McIntosh Mantle Clock. The clock itself was specially designed to look as though it was some sort of premium audio equipment that hates kids fiddling its knobs and buttons just in case something goes awry. We say it might as well have been, considering the heart attack inducing price tag of $1,500.

New stainless steel lasts longer, resists bacteria

New stainless steel lasts longer, resists bacteria

Stainless steel appliances are just about everywhere these days. Thanks to the material's slick look, easy cleaning and durability, it has become exceptionally popular in our kitchens. Now scientists at the University of Birmingham have claimed to create a new type of stainless steel that is even more durable and bacteria resistant than conventional stainless steel. By introducing the elements of silver or copper into the steel surface with an Active Screen Plasma system, the team was able to create a stainless steel hybrid metal.

The Android 3.1 update for the Motorola Xoom may only start in August in Europe, but apparently it can arrive outside the US earlier than that. According to FoneArena, Motorola has officially announced that the update will start rolling out in India tomorrow, on July 29. The update will come over-the-air, and your tablet will notify you about its arrival and ask you to install it. The update will finally activate the SD card slot in the Xoom.

The network has even collated example prices from its rivals and issued a little table to prove its boasts. This one:.

Motorola Atrix 2: Is This It?

Photos of a new Atrix-looking Motorola Android phone have sparked Atrix 2 rumors  faster than you can say “Moto”. The overall form factor, size and textured back do look somewhat familiar, but in all fairness, Motorola could brand this with whichever name they want, although “Atrix” was a reasonably successful name. One thing is for sure, this new device is headed for AT&T as the carrier logo clearly indicates.

Motorola Xoom Android 3.1 update starts rolling out in Europe in early August

Motorola Xoom Android 3.1 update starts rolling out in Europe in early August

The update to Android 3.1 for the Motorola Xoom has been out for quite a while. In the US, that is. Outside of the US, Motorola Xoom tablets are still stuck on Android 3.0 – even if Motorola officially announced the update for Xooms sold worldwide back in June. Yet the update hasn't been seen so far on non-US devices.
If at this point you're asking yourself why that would happen, since the same company has updated the exact same tablet in the US, well… flexibility is apparently the culprit.

I'm sure we all love the concept of flexibility and flexible things in general.

Motorola Promises Android 3.1 Update August Rollout for European XOOM Tablets

Wait a second, didn’t Motorola announce back in June that the Android 3.1 update for the XOOM had begun rolling out to folks in Europe. They sure did, but if you revisit the original Facebook announcement, surprise surprise, it appears the update didn’t quite make it out of the starting gate. We’ve heard that story before, which is why we just don’t feel comfortable trusting a new Motorola Support Forum posting stating that the update will begin rolling out definitively on August 9th. Considering XOOMs elsewhere are already on Android 3.2, this shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish, right.

Aircounter Makes Radiation Detection Accessible

Aircounter Makes Radiation Detection Accessible

The nuclear crisis in Fukushima and surrounding areas is far from over; and consumer radiation meters are expensive and available in special-interest stores. In an effort to make radiation detection more accessible, a Japan-based chemicals company S.T. Corp., in partnership with the Tokyo Metropolitan University, stepped in and introduces the Aircounter. The Aircounter device is a handheld radiation detector that is easy-to-use that even the middle-class, average Daisukes can understand. It enables users to detect radiation levels between 0.05 to 9.99 microsieverts per hour at a height of up to 1 meter above the ground.

ASUS launches noise cancelling gaming headset

Not only is it a tedious bore, the real world can be such an unnecessary distraction when trying to listen for footsteps coming around the corner or place that last block on a Minecraft masterpiece, which is obviously why ASUS is launching a noise cancelling headset just for the likes of us. They're called the Republic of Gamers Vulcan ANC Pro. The acronym stands for 'active noise cancelling' - although they have been launched so close to Nelson Mandela's 93rd birthday that I can't help feel they're missing a trick for South African sales of the bright red set of cans.

Amazon tablet relies on two-finger multi-touch to cut costs?

We know that the US is about to run out of cash in slightly more than a week's time unless the politicians come to a resolution, which means companies that are prudent enough would have long worked on cost cutting measures – and in Amazon's case, their upcoming tablet might see a lower quality touchscreen display that supports just two-finger multi-touch, which is a far cry from other devices such as the iPad 2 that is capable of supporting up to 10-finger touches simultaneously.

Google adds recent popularity graph to web Android Market

Google adds recent popularity graph to web Android Market

Google has pushed out another small change to the web-based desktop Android Market site, with each app's listing page now featuring a graph that traces the app's number of installations over time. No extra data is included other than the usual number of installs bracket that's been there all along, with the little graph simply showing movement over the last 30 days. Here it is.
Obviously given the non-stop explosive growth Android's experiencing at the moment, we'd imagine every app is going to show upward movement of some degree purely thanks to the increased number of people using the system.

HTC is out a top executive with the departure of chief innovation officer Horace Luke. The exec has been gone for some time now, having exited at the end of April. The Taiwanese phone maker formally announced the news this week, citing “personal reasons” as the motivation behind the CIO's exit. HTC had nothing but kind words for Luke, whom had been with the company since 2006, stating that he had "nurtured a culture of innovation." The company's vice president of design, Scott Croyle, has stepped into the Luke's vacant position.

Email notification bell gets the job done

Email notification bell gets the job done

Having this DIY Email Notification Bell on your desk certainly brings new meaning to the proverb, “bells and whistles”, don't you think so. This USB-controlled bell will inform you that there is an incoming mail that needs your attention with a “ding” that you normally hear in restaurants – and not at the office. Something tells me that this is more of a home device, targeting bachelors since you can drive the family nuts if you're a heavy email user and receive tons of email throughout the day (and into the night).

Oh yes. This is niche. After a relatively successful spell on iOS devices, N3V Games has published its railway management game Trainz Simulator on the Android Market. In return for around £3.32 you get to “build and operate the railroad of your dreams” via a game optimised for use on tablets – with graphical enhancements for those using Tegra 2 hardware.
The game's listing says it requires Android 2.3 or higher to run, so if you have a relatively modern tablet it ought to be available.

The long road to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on Verizon may be nearing an end. OK, so it wasn’t really that long of a road, but after pre-orders opened up there has been little word on when the 4G LTE version of the tablet would actually hit store shelves. If the shipping date accompanying recent pre-orders is any indications, the Galaxy Tab 4G LTE could be in stores next week. July 26th is the date the slate is said to ship, so expecting it in stores by the middle of the week doesn’t sound unrealistic.

First it killed the cassette Walkman last year, a few weeks ago it stopped producing MiniDisc Walkmans and now the company announced that it will no longer support the 8mm video format.
