Verizon is gearing up to send a Gingerbread update to the next member of the Droid family, with the OS upgrade to Android 2.3 prepped for delivery to the Motorola Droid 2 Global. This follows the Motorola Droid X which recently received a bump up in Android version itself. Following the model set up by that handset, a select group of D2G users will receive the update this week as part of a “soak” test to work out any final kinks in the software. The update should become available for all D2G users shortly after.
