RIM stocks go down after Apple announced iMessage during WWDC 2011

Steve Jobs kicked things off this week with the unveiling of iOS 5, which includes a new BBM-style messaging service for iOS users called iMessage. Somehow that's a bad news for RIM. BBM, an IM service that allows BlackBerry users to message each other for free, has over 40 million users and has proved exceptionally popular among the younger BlackBerry users. However, now that the newest version of iOS, will have a similar feature, RIM stocks have taken a hit.

Bloomberg reports that the Waterloo, Ontario-based company's stock plummeted to a 26-month low on the Nasdaq after Morgan Keegan & Co.
