China aims to put 5 million electric vehicles on its roads by 2020

Electric vehicles are definitely the way to go if we were looking to do our part in saving the environment by reducing our carbon emissions, and apparently China shares those sentiments as well and has announced the country's goal of putting out 5 million electric vehicles on its roads by the year 2020. As a short term goal, the country is looking to sell at least 500,000 hybrid or electric vehicles by by 2015. So how will they achieve this rather lofty goal.
