The legal battle between Apple and the Rest of the World™ continues, with one of their opponents - HTC - making a surprising move. It is suing Apple back with its own patents, but not just any patents but patents purchased from Google. Yes, Google has decided to step in and protect one of its partners by selling some key patents to HTC for an undisclosed amount. It's interesting why Google did not choose to sue Apple directly. Perhaps they just wanted to make some money, after losing a lot purchasing Motorola Mobility. Or they just didn't want to get their hands dirty.
