The BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9981 - RIM's new luxurious smartphone designed in collaboration with Porsche - has been approved by the FCC (with the model number REQ71UW). While this doesn't necessarily mean the device will be released in the US, it's worth mentioning that the FCC has approved it to work on WCDMA 850MHz and 1900MHz frequencies - thus it would play nice with AT&T's 3G network. The FCC doesn't specifically say the REQ71UW is the Porsche Design P'9981, but there's a PDF file over at RIM's official website which confirms that this is the model number of the handset.
