AT&T to refarm 2G spectrum in New York City

AT&T to refarm 2G spectrum in New York City

Safe to say there are still plenty of AT&T subscribers who might still be stuck on feature phones or devices that can't support 3G speeds or higher, and instead will have to turn to 2G networks. Well it seems that AT&T has announced that starting from today, the carrier has begun a process of refarming its 2G 1900MHz spectrum in New York City. No word from the carrier on how long this refarming process is expected to take, but the carrier has announced that this is done to help free up some additional bandwidth which in turn will help make their 3G and 4G networks run a lot smoother, or so they hope.
